AOL Mail on Outlook 365 has stopped working

I understand that you are not able to successfully configure your email account. This must be very troublesome for you and I understand how you feel.

According to your description, your email suddenly stopped working when you were using your AOL email account from Outlook, and you received a "Server denied login" error message when you tried to reconfigure your login.

According to the information you provided, you are using classic Outlook, let’s try the steps I provide below.

For AOL configuration for classical Outlook:

1In the system, under the search box, type control panel, replace the top right corner of the display type with a small icon, search for Mail, click to open.

2Click on 'Email Account' -- 'New' -- 'Manual Settings or Additional Server Types' -- 'Next' -- 'POP or IMAP'--'Next'."

3Enter the relevant information, the address of the incoming mail server, the address of the outgoing mail server.

  • Username: YourUsername@aol.com (or @love.com, @wow.com, etc.)

Password: password you need to generate and use an app password

To get AOL's emails using a three-party email software, you need to apply for an additional authorization code in AOL, which will be configured as a password to the email software to authorize non-AOL software applications to access your AOL account.   • IMAP configuration settings:

Incoming Mail Server: imap.aol.com

Port: 993

Secure connection type: SSL/TLS

 

  • SMTP configuration settings:

Outgoing Server Address: smtp.aol.com

Port: 465 or 587

Secure connection type: SSL/TLS

4Click on "More Settings" - "Advanced", enter the corresponding port number, and change the encryption information option.

In fact, I think there is nothing wrong with your configuration, the problem should be with the application password.
